Airport Assistance Services

Fast Track Assistance

Value is especially found in Fast Track Assistance at ORD when the waves are large in the morning and late afternoon, one of the security lines at either Terminal 1 or 3 can extend way past the stanchions. An Airport Assist host will direct you towards the priority lanes, which are close to the central checkpoints at each single terminal, and through which you will pass the regular queue. This service is beneficial to business travelers, seniors, families with children, whose schedules require them to travel with a lot of very little time, bypass security formations much faster.

Meet and Greet

At arrivals, you are immediately greeted by a Meet and Greet host at the very first point, either outside the area of security in the baggage handling area of Terminals 1, 2, 3, or at the primary exit hallway into the main entrance of Terminal 5, where international arrivals are greeted. It is here they take you through every process: baggage collection, the customs (in case of coming abroad), and the receiving of your transport. This personal guidance will be very valuable to first-time entertainers in the U.S., elderly travelers, and any person who does not know the long corridors at O’Hare.

Lounge Access

O'Hare has an incoherent network of lounges, primarily concentrated airside, in the Terminals of 1, 2 and 3, and newer in Terminal 5. Airport Assist will ensure that you book into or get access to the permitted lounges based on your airline or membership, and shown the closest location without having any detours. This service falls well with people having a long layover, people that came in early to take an international flight, or when one needs to have some me time before flying.

VIP Airport Assistance

VIP Airport Assistance transforms ORD into a more refined route: the private host takes care of priority check-in, pre-preferred security inspections and the lounge pathway. This service is useful in Terminal 5 where long lines at the immigration desks are usually witnessed due to the end of the afternoon international arrivals. Its most suitable consumers would be the executives, high profile guests, and other travelers who would want to have a small entry through the airport.

Family & Special Need Support

Families arriving at the Termin. 5 pointed at long-haul flights will noticed the assistance in clearing their cargo, taking the strollers, and re-establishing connections with home links. Airport Assist offers individual services of luggage, children, and document management to parents. Patients requiring lesser mobility or sensory sensitivity are given step by step patient support from arrival to departure, including the alignment with airline wheelchair teams, as necessary.

Baggage & Porter Help

Porter services can come in handy especially at O Hare since most of the connections involve transfers between terminals which is achieved by use of the Airport Transit System (ATS). A porter at your baggage carousel of the terminals takes and transfers luggage to you, and directs you to the train platform (or the curbside transport). This service serves families, elderly and travelers with heavy equipment or large bags.

Transit Assistance

Meeting at O’Hare may be an easy task or quite unexpectedly a lengthy process based on terminal switches. Airport Assist also offers you a host to guide you gate to gate in usually with authority to by-pass the re-check areas in case you need to. It is more useful especially in the case of international to domestic transfers through the Terminal 5, which require them to clear immigration, retrieve bags, and recheck bags and transfer them by the ATS to Terminals 1, 2, or 3.

Layover and Connection Tips at O’Hare

  • To travel between terminals, there is the Airport Transit System (ATS) which is a 24-hour automated train. Almost all terminals are spaced by a couple of minutes (3 to 5 minutes), though, allowing an extra minute or two of walking over platforms, particularly on a gloomy winter evening when hordes crowd around the doors.
  • Terminal 5 may have very large peaks and valleys in immigration lines, depending on the number of arrivals of flights during afternoons. Between 2 pm and 6 pm, it will take more time to process. The mornings are usually more relaxed to the travelers
  • The wait times at the terminals differ. Terminal 3 would be busier considering that it is occupied with American Airlines whereas Terminal 2 has slows down on more occasions with old layouts. You can save on time by checking with the official TSA wait time tracker prior to going to your checkpoint.
  • O'Hare has a decent lounge proliferation, and most of them are airline loyalty or members-only. Day passes are not too many, and queues may be created during the busiest times. To secure entry, it is better to book in advance either with Airport Assist or on the web site of the lounge
  • U.S. transit regulations treat all foreign arrivals (not necessarily continuing to the destination) as requiring clearance at the initial point of entry into the United States of immigration and customs. ORD does not have an international transit zone that is covered with sterility. It has official entry rules, which are also posted as: https://www.cbp.gov.
  • Long layovers can be taken, and the new remodellation of the Terminal number 5 at the terminal provides an improvement in seating spaces and meals. In need of space, in the distant parts of the concourses at Terminals 1 and 2, things are usually quieter.
  • ORD has Wi-Fi which is free but needs to be reconnected periodically. Streaming is reasonably good, but the speed in places with high traffic such as Terminal 3 during mid day goes slow.
  • Baggage recheck International-to-domestic transfers are found right outside the customs of Terminal 5. The workers of airlines transport the bags onto internal conveyor belts--faraway to Chicago must be your ending point.
  • Winter causes delays of flights because of weather. Both United and American offer several customer service desks in Terminal 1 and 3, although the mobile applications tend to yield quicker rebooking services.
  • Domestic-domestic 1 hour when staying in the same terminal; 2 hours when staying in different terminals; at least 3 hours when staying in international terminals because of immigration, baggage recheck, terminal transfer.
  • In case you are fond of architecture in the airport, you can go on a stroll through the neon tunnel, between Concours B and C in Terminal 1. It is an archetypal O-Hare experience and a pleasant layover between flights.
  • SIM cards are not sold extensively within the airport. Majority of the travelers use eSIMs or collect premade prepaid SIMs in the city. Wi-Fi calling is predictable within the terminals.
  • Visiting the terminal: There are no long benches in the other terminals, which increases overnight layovers, although sleeping is more comfortable in the Terminal 1 and 2 which have additional longer benches close to the distant gates. There are numerous seats in Terminal 5 yet with strong lighting.
  • When using a wheelchair, elderly tourists or those with mobility difficulties must seek assistance in advance. Changing gates and having the long concourses and escalators at O'Hare, makes it tiresome especially when changing gates.
